Biography

Vola Mae, daughter of Edna Ola (Walker) and Ernest K. Veley was born west of Aline, Oklahoma on December 21, 1920. She passed away at the Beadles Nursing Home in Alva on the 25th day February at the age of 88 years, 2 months and 4 days.
She attended the Lone Star Rural Grade School and attended the Dacoma High School.
Miss Veley was married to Leon Ralph on June 30, 1941 in Alva, Oklahoma. To their marriage their only son Larry was born.
Following their marriage they lived on a farm south of Greensburg. In 1950 they went to Blackwell later returning to the farm. In 1956 they made Alva their home. In 1965 they went to work at the Rialto Theater until they retired in 1995.
Mrs. Nicholson was a member of the Alva Church of God. She loved to garden, bake and crochet.
She was preceded in death by her husband on July 5, 1996, her parents, two sisters; Florence Dupus and Bessie Smith and seven brothers; Clifford, George, Cecil, Harold, Harvey, Richard and Fred.
Vola is survived by her son Larry and his wife Carolyn of Mancelona, Michigan. Three grandchildren; Shawn and his wife Meg of West Bloomfield, Michigan, Jason Nicholson of Flint, Michigan and Amanda Nicholson of Kalkaska, Michigan. Two great granddaughters; Cecelia and Charlotte. Plus a number of nieces, nephews, friends, and relatives.
