Frank Franco
September 23, 1927 - March 3, 2008
Frank Martinez, son of Rafaela (Martinez) and C.F. Franco was born on September 23, 1927 at Waynoka, Oklahoma. He passed away at the Alva Share Medical Center on the 3rd of March at the age of 80 years, 5 months and 11 days.
He entered the Army on December 19, 1945 at Camp Chaffee, Arkansas serving in the Pacific Theatre and was discharged on June 28, 1947 at Camp Stoneman in California.
Frank began his railroad career on May 6, 1944 as a roundhouse labor. Then transferred to the Bridge and Building Department in 1970 and was promoted to Foreman and retired after 45 years in April of 1989.
Mr. Franco was a member of the Alva Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
He was preceded in death by his parents and most of his sisters and brothers.
Frank is survived by his wife of 54 years of marriage, Jerri M. of the home, three daughters and their husbands, Annette Schwerdtfeger of Alva, Sara and Joe Lansdown of Edmond and Elizabeth and Michael Macias of Wellington, Kansas. Six grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and a brother and his wife, Al and Jean of Woodward. A number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
